Auto insurance fraud is a billion-dollar problem in California. Most auto fraud claims involve the use of insurance and auto body shops. In undercover operations dating back to 2018, the Alameda County District Attorney’s Office in partnership with CDI, Golden Gate Region, and NICB, have found a high percentage of auto body shops are willing to commit fraud during the vehicle estimate and repair process.
